The cardiovascular field has been identified as a major area of application, given the needs in this area and its widespread impact on today's population. Their characteristic of being able to wirelessly communicate environmental conditions from inside the body, whether ingested or implanted, can make acquisition of vital statistics convenient and automatic, and provide information for diagnosis and treatment of pathological conditions.
